Youth Leadership Training Program

Schedule

The following is a proposed schedule of courses for the duration of the Youth Leadership Training Program. Students are free to customize their own schedule with the advice of both the Seminary and the church. It should be noted, however, that the Diploma must be completed (minimum G.P.A. 3.0) before the student can be admitted to Master of Arts courses within ACTS Seminaries.

The Diploma part of the program will include a significant component of closely mentored, practical, in-church training.

Admission to the Master’s component of the program will be on academic probation for the first 15 credits of the Master’s level study pending achievement of an acceptable GPA.

First Stage: Diploma in Youth Ministry - (30 credits)

Fall Semester (12 credits)

  • YMN 301  Foundations of Youth Ministry (3)
  • YMN 310  SonLife Strategies (3)
  • YMN 311  Youth Ministry Programming (2)
  • YMN 401  The People of God and the Practice of Ministry (4)

Spring Semester (11 credits)

  • YMN 302  Introduction to Youth Ministry (3)
  • YMN 312  SonLife Advanced I (3) 
  • YMN 402  Youth Counselling (4)
  • YMN 500  Research Strategies (1)
       (this is an ACTS prerequisite – RES 500)

Summer Semester (7 credits)

  • YMN 403  Spiritual Formation for Leaders (3)
  • YMN 404  Evangelism and Youth Ministry (4)
    ( or )
    YMN 405  Missions and Youth (4)

Please note that students are not obligated to continue to the MACS program but could conclude their studies with the diploma program.
